The kids from Willy Wonka. 🙂  I was all surgeried out, so unfortunately I didn’t get to Wonka or the Oompa Loompas as was hoped.  I just had my last Character Design class and I am already bummed.  That class was SO. MUCH. FUN. It was so easy to talk to my teacher Chris too about the things I was concerned with and where I wanted to go with my work.  He completely understood and took it in stride and gave me really good advice.  Something I’ve noticed is that teachers at AAU have a habit of looking for something technical to talk about when you ask for advice as an artist.  Talking to Chris was the exact opposite.  It was all about feeling and the ability to relate to the characters.  Making them seem like actual people.  The class was GREAT and I really hope to get into the Advanced course when they post it. 🙂

Weird Cowboy

Since I haven’t posted anything in a bit, here’s a fat dude. :>  I will be posting other stuff soon.  This class I am in is actually winding down.  I am about to start another class for Story which I am utterly psyched about.  I’d really like to use it as an excuse to work on the 2nd story arc for Zombie Killers and make it the best it can be!!

Circle, Square, Triangle

Circle, Square, Triangle

Well I just started a character design class and our first assignment was to design a Native American Shapes with the body shape of a circle, square, and triangle respectively.  It was really fun and actually surprisingly challenging to think up new creative ways to make the different shapes fit into all aspects of the character’s design and personality.  I also tried speed modeling some old man Native American heads loosely based off of my grandpa.  They are also roughly in the circle, square, and triangle shapes.  For now I just have the heads but I might post samples of the other stuff later. 🙂

Wedding Invites!

Wedding Invites!

.. ha!  They are not mine. XD  A coworker of mine asked me to do a simple design for he and his lady-to-be.  They wanted cute little stick figure people, so this is what I came up with for them. (The quotes were written by the bride to be.) I had a lot of fun doing it and I think the card turned out really cute.  They used this nice rustic paper with twine threaded in it that was tied in a knot that was supposed to represent their marriage.  I’m just happy they liked the cards. :> Pics below!
