Costume Changes

So it’s come to my attention that I really have a difficult time maintaining any sort of online presence unless I’m on it constantly. Oh well. It’s about time to update this place with some ART!
On March 8 I got the chance to speak to Sam Coaass, who brought a mini-comic that I got to read called The Coffin.
Sam’s art is really fun. I love the mysterious quality with which she inked this particular comic and her composition looks great. You can see this and her other work here The Masked One so go check her out!
Just a turnaround I am working on for class.
Preliminary designs for the two main characters in “Of Mice and Men.”
Oh man I finally got my business cards in the mail from Moo.com. XD They are way more pink than I realized I made them. Oh well, leave it to the un-girly girl to end up having tons of girly stuff at her comic table. Haha..
In other news, I have been really busy putting together stuff for a new print of the comic (Sans embarrassing typos >_>) and stuff with my knee as well. It just feels like it never quite goes away. I have the next couple pages of ZK drawn out though. New job has been exhausting. It’s just a completely different type of environment than I am used to and it killed me creatively for a bit. I’m slowly getting into the groove though. Just in time for classes!
Lately I’ve been trying to get into things that involve other areas of art. I bought a bunch of scrap booking stuff with the intent of making a fancy book of all the cool times Jae and I have had. It hasn’t really been quick going, but I’ve got a lot of really cool ideas for it! Anyone done that stuff before? It is strangely involved.
We also went to Hangar 1 the other day and learned the art of boozing. That was some pretty damn interesting stuff. Luckily, I don’t think it’s made me any more of a booze snob than I already am (a pretty big one,) but it did give me a lot of ideas for fancy high alcohol drinks! Hangar 1 is this isolated place out in the middle of fuckall nowhere on an abandoned air base. There was some really pretty scenery there and I pity the soul that gets drunk out there because there wasn’t a food joint or public transportation to be had for miles.
I have also been dealing with more crap with my knee. Really, when am I not at this point. The pain just flat out hasn’t gone away. I can’t do normal stuff anymore and I’m really starting to get sick of it. The doc has me on 600mg of ibuprofen 3x a day in the hopes to lower some inflammation but it’s not like I can do that for the rest of my life. Hopefully it will help stave off surgery #3 though.
Finally, Jae and I did a booze and cupcakes night. I had been promising to bring some to work and Jae has wanted to do cupcakes together for a while. For once our roles were switched and he was the one making a mess instead of me. XD Unlike him, though, I wasn’t making fun of him about it (like he would to me) because I am a nice girlfriend. Below is a picture of one of my fancy-ass cupcakes!
